ESR Meeting at Leeds in February 2023

Our Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) met at University of Leeds for a two day meeting on 20-21 February 2023. On the first day they enjoyed updating each other with scientific presentations of their work.  They also heard from Dr Luke Higgins, formerly of University of Leeds and now working at Diamond Light Source. His talk was on his past and current research and then specifically around his move to Diamond and what it is like working in a national facility.

On the second day they visited the Flow-Xl lab and had the opportunity to try to load a droplet into the droplet levitator before watching it crystallise with XRD. They also visited the LEMAS facility (Leeds Electron Microscopy and Spectroscopy Centre) and AFM facility. Thanks to all Leeds staff who facilitated these visits.

Finally, there was time for some team building over a game of Shuffleboard and a meal.
