Dr Bidisha Tah Roy

Bidisha Tah Roy is  a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Prof. Meldrum's group, at the School of Chemistry, the University of Leeds from July 2022. The projects she is working on presently are:

  • Study precisely the comparison between the growth rate and mechanism of calcite and aragonite crystals at identical environment.
  • Formation of beta-guanine crystal at neutral pH.

Before that, Bidisha worked as a postdoc with Prof. Amir Berman at Ben-Gurion University, Israel. There she studied the effects of additives, and templates on the nucleation of calcium carbonate crystallization.  Bidisha completed her Ph.D. in 2014 at the Research Institute Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science ( Jadavpur University), India.  During her Ph.D. her research focused extensively on studying the lipid-protein interaction in the aqueous and air-water interface.
