Dimitrios Valavanis

Dimitrios is a PhD student and Research Assistant at the University of Warwick, working as a member of Professor Pat Unwin’s group. He has a background in materials science and electrochemistry.

His recent work revolves around the development of scanning electrochemical probe microscopy methods, with a special interest in employing in situ optical microscopy. He is using micro- and nano-pipettes to conduct electrochemical experiments in confinement, while monitoring the electrode-electrolyte interface via an interference-based optical technique. He will be applying his previous experience into visualising crystal nucleation and growth.
