Dr Joe Barker

Dr Joe Barker was a Research Fellow in Experimental Crystallisation working under the supervision of Professor Fiona Meldrum until August 2023. His research involves studying the crystallisation of a range of materials with a specific focus on the effect of additives and confinement.

Joe completed his PhD in 2022 under the supervision of Professor Paul Anderson at the University of Birmingham. His thesis was on the synthesis, structure and properties of carboxyphosphonate metal-organic frameworks. Prior to that he completed an integrated MSci Chemistry with Industrial Experience, spending a year at Johnson Matthey.
