Dr Martha Ilett

Postdoctoral Research Assistant
University of Leeds

Dr Martha Ilett is a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Leeds electron microscopy group working with Rik Drummond-Brydson.  Martha is working on using advanced in situ electron microscopy techniques including cryo-TEM and liquid cell-TEM to monitor and better understand the early stages of crystallisation.

Martha was awarded her PhD in 2020 from the School of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Leeds, where her work focused on characterising interactions between nanoparticles and complex biological media using cryo-analytical-S/TEM.  Prior to this, she obtained an MSc in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Glasgow and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Bristol.
